Dayton Webber was recently seen on camera with a swastika-shaped scar just days before he allegedly shot and killed a friend.
Footage obtained by TMZ—reportedly dated March 16, about a week before the incident—shows the 27-year-old with what appears to be the racist symbol carved into his abdomen. In another clip from the same footage, he’s seen in the driver’s seat of a car drinking brown liquor, with a substance resembling white powder visible on the center console nearby.
In March, Webber was accused of fatally shooting Bradrick Michael Wells before driving off with his body. According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Webber was in a Tesla SUV in Maryland with three friends when an argument broke out with the front passenger.
The situation allegedly escalated when Webber shot Wells. The other passengers exited the vehicle after he pulled over. Authorities say he then asked them to help move the body, and when they refused, he left them stranded on the roadside.
Webber is now facing a potential life sentence. His attorney, however, maintains that the shooting was in self-defense.
“He had to kill or be killed. That’s what this case is,” the lawyer said outside court. “I think the evidence is going to be clear that this was not planned, something that was not premeditated. This was someone in fear who did not know how to handle a situation that was such a traumatic event. This has always been a self-defense case. He is not guilty.”
In another previously released image, Webber is seen climbing a ladder toward what looks like an elevated hunting blind, with a rifle strapped to his back.
Despite losing his lower arms and legs at just 10 months old due to a bacterial infection, Webber went on to build a name for himself as a professional cornhole player in the American Cornhole League.
