Ice Spice has landed a spot in a new Wendy’s commercial just weeks after her viral altercation at McDonald’s.
The incident, which happened in Los Angeles, saw the rapper get into a scuffle with a woman identified as Vayah. During the moment, Ice Spice made it clear she rides with Wendy’s over McDonald’s, later posting on X that a situation like that “wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s.”
Wendy’s clearly took note, tapping the 26-year-old to front a new campaign for its revamped chicken sandwich.
“I heard Wendy’s upgraded their OG chicken sandwich. New spicy?” she says in the ad, before diving into a series of playful “spicy” moments—including a scene where she imagines getting a neck tattoo that reads “Ice Spicy.” The clip wraps with her snapping out of the fantasy and reaching for a Frosty.
During the McDonald’s incident, Ice Spice was reportedly attacked while seated and eating with a friend. While some people speculated the altercation was staged, her lawyer confirmed that the situation was officially reported to the LAPD.
The woman involved, Vayah, claimed the issue started after Ice allegedly refused to let her and a friend sit at their table, which quickly escalated into a heated confrontation.
“She said, ‘I’m from New York,'” Vayah told TMZ. “Let me tell you something. You’re in LA. You’re in my city now, and you can’t be out here disrespecting people. If you wanted us to leave, you could have just said, politely, ‘I’m not in the mood.'”
Interestingly, Ice Spice has a past connection with Wendy’s. During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show last year, she shared that she once worked there before her music career took off.
“There would be really annoying workers and characters,” she told Kelly Clarkson. “[But] I would low-key appreciate them. But, like, low-key, though.”
