Drake Could Become The First Artist To Dominate The Billboard Chart With Three Albums

Drake’s new albums ICEMAN, MAID OF HONOUR, and HABIBTI are also projected to make major moves on Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart.

Drake’s latest releases continue to spark intense conversation online, but the criticism hasn’t stopped listeners from repeatedly streaming the projects. The albums are currently dominating streaming numbers and chart activity, and according to HITS Daily Double, the Toronto superstar could be on track to make history.

The outlet shared updated first-week sales projections for Drake’s trio of projects. Based on the report, ICEMAN is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with around 475K album-equivalent units. Meanwhile, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR are both projected to land at either No. 2 or No. 3 with roughly 120K units each. If it happens, Drake would become the first artist ever to debut three new projects at the top of the Billboard chart simultaneously.

The rap icon may also take over Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, which tracks song performance across the country. Drake could reportedly place up to 14 songs inside the top 15. Some of the leading contenders include “Ran To Atlanta” featuring Future and Molly Santana, along with “Janice STFU,” “Make Them Cry,” and “Whisper My Name.” While those songs are pulled from ICEMAN, tracks from HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR could still gain stronger momentum in the coming days.

We’ll find out soon enough whether or not Drake can pull off this historic triple album chart debut. The projects may also have serious staying power. After all, beloved albums like Take Care have remained on the charts ever since their release. With nonstop discussion surrounding this trilogy and so much material for fans to revisit, analyze, and debate, the momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

Elsewhere, Drake has been embracing the positive reactions from fans online while largely brushing off the criticism coming his way. Right now, there’s clearly more support than negativity, and even more hype building as the trilogy continues its run as a major commercial powerhouse.

Combined, all three albums are projected to move more than 715K album-equivalent units in their first week, a staggering number by any standard. Now, attention turns to how long the albums will maintain their momentum, which tracks will become fan favorites, and where these projects will ultimately rank within Drake’s massive catalog.
