Bobby Shmurda Sounds Off On Jay-Z And Roc Nation’s Role In His Legal Battle

Bobby Shmurda is escalating his criticism of Jay-Z and Roc Nation, alleging that the company’s legal team played a major role in pushing him toward a plea deal during his criminal case.

While Jay-Z received widespread praise for his recent freestyle performance at Roots Picnic, the appearance also reignited Bobby Shmurda’s ongoing frustrations with the rap mogul and Roc Nation. After previously accusing Jay-Z of experiencing an identity crisis, Shmurda has now expanded on why he believes the entertainment company wronged him.

In a lengthy social media post shared alongside a clip of Jeezy discussing why Jay-Z canceled the “Seen It All” video shoot, Shmurda claimed Roc Nation effectively pressured him into accepting a plea agreement.

“Now listen up. It’s not about how you say things; it’s about what you’re saying. Like, you’re not gonna tell me in a nice way you’re gonna rape my family and take all my money, right, so wake up, stupid,” Shmurda wrote.

The Brooklyn rapper went on to suggest that Jay-Z attempted to capitalize on his lack of experience in the music industry during the early stages of his career. He also alleged that Alex Spiro, the high-profile attorney who has represented both Jay-Z and Roc Nation, was involved in circumstances that led to his incarceration.

“now that I’m out of jail after his lawyer put me in there, Alex Spyro, which is public. You can look it up I told him I was forced. The judge said he didn’t care he was sending me and all my friends upstate and we can get it on appeal,” Shmurda wrote.

He further claimed that after his release from prison, he believed Roc Nation was in a position to help him exit the Epic Records deal he remained tied to while incarcerated.

“I knew they wanted to make up for it so when I came home from prison, I knew they were the only one that can give me out of the Epic deal I was held on for six years in prison. I was the only artist that was held on a deal for six years major label AKA billion dollar company,” he added.

The latest comments mark another chapter in Bobby Shmurda’s public dispute with Roc Nation and Jay-Z, as he continues to voice concerns about how his legal and business affairs were handled during and after his time behind bars.

Shmurda also posted screenshots of a VIBE article that referenced his refusal to sign waivers and other paperwork connected to the plea agreement he later attempted to withdraw.

According to the rapper, he repeatedly expressed his desire to dismiss Alex Spiro as his attorney and reject the plea deal, claiming he made those objections on the record. He questioned why he was allegedly being encouraged to waive his legal rights despite his objections.

“Why are you telling me to waive my rights?” Shmurda said.

The rapper further argued that key evidence in his case did not conclusively link him to the charges. Referencing forensic findings, he claimed that fingerprint results connected to one of the firearm allegations were deemed inconclusive.

“My fingerprints came back ‘inconclusive.’ On my first gun charge that they sent me upstate seven years for then try to spin it bout ‘ooh he took time for his friends so they don’t look bad lol To them n***as is wicked son. Narrative is illusions does not change the truth,” he wrote.

Shmurda’s latest comments continue his public criticism of Roc Nation and those involved in his legal representation, as he maintains that the narrative surrounding his case does not accurately reflect what he believes really happened.
