Megan Thee Stallion is giving fans a taste of new music as she embraces life as a single woman.
On Tuesday (June 2), the rapper shared an Instagram video previewing an unreleased track, paired with footage of herself enjoying drinks and partying with friends aboard a yacht.
In the snippet, Megan delivers a pointed lyric that appears to reflect her current mindset, rapping, “All that wifey shit is dead/Put that shit to bed/l’ma make him beg, when I want some head.”
The preview comes just over a month after the 31-year-old confirmed through a representative that she had ended her relationship with 36-year-old NBA star Klay Thompson.
Back on April 25, Megan seemingly addressed the breakup in a candid Instagram Story, where she appeared to accuse the Dallas Mavericks player of being unfaithful.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous???? bitch I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall,” she wrote.
In a statement released through her representative, Megan later explained her decision, saying, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The breakup quickly became a hot topic online, drawing reactions from personalities such as DJ Akademiks, Mase, Ebro Darden, Stephen A. Smith, The Kid Mero, and even the official account for The Sims.
WNBA player Lexie Brown was also forced to address rumors linking her to the split, revealing that the speculation resulted in her receiving “death threats.”
Meanwhile, some of Megan’s supporters reportedly joked online about reaching out to Etsy witches in an attempt to put a hex on Thompson.
At the time the breakup news surfaced, Megan was performing in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway. She appeared emotional during a show just hours after reports of the split emerged and ultimately wrapped up her run earlier than expected, with her final performance taking place on May 1.
A few days later, an undated video of Thompson boating during an Instagram Live session made the rounds online. Without directly mentioning the breakup, he remarked, “Good to be back on the high seas.”
Last Friday (May 29), Megan seemed to allude to the breakup once again while appearing on Bossman Dlow’s “Motion Party (Remix).”
On the track, she raps, “I ain’t goin’ through no phones, that shit stupid/If I catch a n***a cheatin’ on me, it’s deuces,” before adding, “Shit strict over here, I’m a rich bitch/Thought he did his big one ‘til he met the biggest.”
