Chris Brown is challenging a custody petition filed by the mother of his youngest daughter, Lovely Symphani Brown.
According to newly filed court documents, the Grammy-winning singer is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the 4-year-old after Diamond Brown reportedly asked a Los Angeles court to award her sole custody.
In her filing, Diamond allegedly requested full legal and physical custody of Lovely while proposing that Chris Brown be granted visitation rights instead of a shared parenting arrangement.
Brown, however, is pushing for a custody agreement that would allow both parents to share equal legal authority and parenting duties regarding their daughter.
The “Loyal” hitmaker is also asking the court to have each side cover their own legal fees. Diamond had previously requested that Chris be ordered to pay the expenses associated with the case.
The custody dispute comes after months of public friction between the former couple. Earlier this year, Diamond publicly accused Chris on social media of trying to interfere in her new romantic relationship.
While Brown did not directly respond to those claims, the situation gained more attention when his current girlfriend, Jada Wallace, became involved.
Wallace alleged that Diamond had been preventing Chris from spending time with Lovely, adding fuel to the already tense situation. The conflict escalated further after Diamond appeared to suggest she was prepared to confront Wallace personally.
The legal battle unfolds during a significant chapter in Brown’s personal life. In late April, he and Wallace welcomed a baby boy, adding to the singer’s growing family.
Chris Brown is also the father of 12-year-old Royalty Brown, whom he shares with Nia Guzman, and Aeko Catori Brown, whom he welcomed with model Ammika Harris in 2019. Lovely, born in 2022, is his third child.
