Daphne Joy opened up about her dating preferences during a candid appearance on the No Jumper podcast, explaining why she has often been attracted to ambitious, high-profile men. The 39-year-old pointed to her past relationships with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and 50 Cent, with whom she shares a 13-year-old son, as examples that helped shape her outlook on relationships.
Around the 22-minute mark of the interview, Joy told host Adam22 that she finds the demanding lifestyles of successful men attractive rather than frustrating. According to Joy, when someone with a packed schedule still makes time for her, it feels more meaningful and intentional.
“It feels hotter and sexier when they make the time for me and I like that they prioritize me,” she said.
Although Joy rejected the idea that a man with “too much time” is automatically a “loser,” she acknowledged that her ideal partner has traditionally been someone with a busy lifestyle. However, she revealed that she is currently “newly single” and open to dating someone who may have significantly more time to devote to a relationship.
“I’m kind of scared of it, too…I would never want to make them fall in love with me and break their heart or anything, too,” she explained. “I just wanna be careful with people’s emotions.”
The interview comes about two weeks after alleged footage involving Daphne Joy, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and adult entertainer Sly Diggler spread across social media. Joy later released a statement describing the footage as “painful” and “triggering,” claiming it was recorded without her consent. She later appeared on DJ Akademiks’ livestream, where she spoke candidly about various relationship and intimacy-related topics.
Beyond her online presence, Joy has built a career as both a model and actress. She appeared as a mermaid in the 2011 film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and launched her swimwear brand, Daphne Joy Swim, in 2024. She also shares a son, Sire Jackson, with 50 Cent, whom she dated from 2011 to 2012.
Joy’s connections to both Diddy and 50 Cent have drawn renewed public interest in recent weeks as legal scrutiny surrounding Diddy continues to generate headlines.
