MrBeast Becomes First YouTuber to Reach 500 Million Subscribers: Here’s Who Else Ranks in the Top 10 Channels Worldwide

MrBeast has officially surpassed 500 million subscribers on YouTube, becoming the first individual creator in the platform’s history to reach the half-billion mark.

According to YouTube representatives, MrBeast’s rise on the platform began in 2012 and has been filled with record-breaking achievements. He first became the most-subscribed individual creator in 2022 before taking over as the most-subscribed channel on all of YouTube in 2024.

Celebrating the latest milestone, YouTube shared a message of support for the content creator.

“Congratulations MrBeast!” YouTube representatives said while confirming the achievement. “We can’t wait to see what’s in store for his YouTube fans next.”

Reacting to the achievement during a livestream, the 28-year-old content creator admitted he was blown away by the scale of the accomplishment, describing it as “freakin’ insane.”

“I shouldn’t have half a billion subscribers, statistically,” he told viewers. “I shouldn’t. I didn’t grow up with much.”

MrBeast went on to reflect on his upbringing, noting that both of his parents served in the military and that his family even experienced bankruptcy at one point. He also emphasized how fortunate he feels to have discovered his passion for creating YouTube videos at such a young age.

“I really shouldn’t be where I am today,” he said. “It doesn’t make sense that I have 500 million subscribers. It’s not like I grew up in Hollywood, or I grew up in New York. I grew up in a very small town with no money, no resources. But I was just relentless. I got lucky. I found what I loved at a really young age. I found YouTube at the age of 11, and I gave it my all.”

The milestone marks another historic moment in MrBeast’s remarkable rise, further cementing his place as the most-subscribed creator on YouTube.

With MrBeast now crossing the 500 million subscriber milestone, attention has turned to where other major creators rank on YouTube’s all-time subscriber leaderboard.

The list below highlights the platform’s top 50 channels by subscriber count, based on data from the widely referenced analytics site Social Blade rather than YouTube itself. At this time, YouTube does not publicly maintain or release an official ranking of its most-subscribed channels.
