A reported altercation at a Hidden Hills residence in December 2021 ultimately brought Lil Wayne to court, but the rapper has now emerged with a legal win.
Christian Carlos filed a lawsuit against Wayne in 2023, alleging that the rap star punched him in the ear and later pointed a semiautomatic rifle at him in a threatening manner. TMZ previously reported that Wayne denied the incident ever took place, while other reports suggested the rapper became upset after allegedly catching Carlos taking photos without permission.
According to Rolling Stone, Carlos sought damages for medical expenses and lost income stemming from the alleged encounter.
“Plaintiff suffered severe emotional distress, requiring him to seek mental health treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) stemming directly from this incident,” court documents stated.
This week, Rolling Stone reported that the court awarded judgment in Lil Wayne’s favor totaling $29,225. In addition, Christian Carlos and his attorney have been ordered to cover Wayne’s legal costs after the court found they repeatedly failed to comply with court orders. As a result, the lawsuit was dismissed.
“The court is granting terminating sanctions because plaintiff willfully refused to comply with three discovery orders over nearly ten months, made affirmative misrepresentations to the court about compliance, and has still provided no responses as of April 21, 2026,” the judge stated.
Ashlee Difuntorum, an attorney representing Wayne, also argued that Carlos failed to provide “basic information and documents relating to the alleged incident and injuries” throughout the legal proceedings.
The full amount of Wayne’s legal fees has not yet been finalized, though it is expected to be substantial. Difuntorum said the final figure is still being calculated, adding, “We’re pleased with the outcome and grateful the court held plaintiff accountable for his conduct.”
