Lil Dicky has made it clear where he stands in the greatest rapper of all time debate, naming Drake as his undisputed GOAT.
The rapper and comedian, who previously featured the Iceman hitmaker in the third — and likely final — season of his FXX series Dave, shared his opinion during a recent appearance on Complex’s GOAT Talk.
Joined by producer Benny Blanco, Dicky explained that while his younger self would have chosen Kanye West, his perspective has changed over the years.
“The child in me says Kanye,” the Friends Keep Secrets co-host said. “The man in me says Drake. Kanye was the GOAT rapper of my childhood, [and] inspired the inner child in me, which ultimately inspires the adult version of me. But since age 22 of my life until now, I just feel like Drake is just, to me, there’s just no better rapper.”
While Dicky crowned Drake as the greatest rapper ever, Benny Blanco went in a different direction, naming Lil Wayne as his personal GOAT.
Earlier in the conversation, Dicky also selected Drake as the artist he would most want to collaborate with, further highlighting his admiration for the Toronto superstar.
The praise comes as Drake continues to dominate headlines following the ambitious release of three new albums on the same day, including Iceman, which quickly climbed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The move added yet another milestone to a career that many fans and artists already consider one of the most influential in hip-hop history.
