Keke Palmer Joins BET’s First-Ever Board of Advisors Alongside Queen Latifah and LL Cool J

Keke Palmer has taken on a significant new role within the BET family.

Ahead of the 2026 BET Awards, the network announced that the I Love Boosters actress has been appointed to its first-ever Board of Advisors, according to an official press release. At 32, Palmer joins an impressive founding group that includes BET co-founder Bob Johnson, Queen Latifah, and LL Cool J.

The advisory board also features Troy Vincent, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations; Raymond J. McGuire, president of Lazard; and George Cheeks, chairman of TV media at Paramount.

Palmer has a long history with BET. In 2014, she hosted the network’s talk show Just Keke, becoming the youngest talk-show host in television history at just 20 years old. Her career achievements also include becoming the first Black actress to portray Cinderella on Broadway and earning two Emmy Awards.

“Keke Palmer represents the future of entertainment,” BET President Louis Carr said. “She understands audiences, embraces innovation, and has consistently used her platform to open doors for others. Her insight, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset will be invaluable as we continue positioning BET for the next generation.”

Beyond her accomplishments in television and film, Palmer has spent more than 15 years building her music career, most recently releasing her 2023 album Big Boss. She also expanded into the digital media space with the launch of KeyTV Network in 2021, a platform dedicated to producing and distributing original online content.

Palmer learned of her appointment last week when former 106 & Park host Terrence J surprised her with the news during a visit to BET’s headquarters.
