If the opening day of Streamer University 2026 is anything to go by, fans can expect plenty more surprises after a kickoff that featured Drake, free smartphones, and even a live rat.
Kai Cenat officially launched the second edition of his non-accredited content creator event on Wednesday (July 15). This year’s class features 120 students, including Jordyn Lucas, who decided to mark the occasion by presenting Cenat with one of the event’s most unexpected gifts.
“You do so much for people, and people don’t ever do anything for you,” Lucas said before Cenat opened the box containing the gift. “So this is, you know, humble beginnings.”
After discovering the very-much-alive surprise inside, Cenat asked, “Jordan, is this a rat?”
Lucas explained that the unusual gift was meant to symbolize Cenat’s journey and serve as a reminder of how far he has come.
Longtime fans may remember that Kai Cenat went viral early in his streaming career after an unexpected rat appeared during one of his broadcasts—a moment that quickly spread across social media.
“I have to remind you where you came from,” Lucas told Cenat on Wednesday. “You getting money now. You know what I’m saying? So I have to remind you where you came from. Remember that dirty-ass Bronx room you was in?”
Cenat chose not to respond to the callback directly, though he did briefly hold the rat before jokingly offering Lucas some advice.
“Okay, you wanna know what I want you to do? … Make this your pet for your room, okay?” Cenat said. “I don’t want this.”
However, his stance appeared to soften later in the event. Cenat was seen singing a Jackson 5 classic to the rat before admitting he might actually keep it after all.
“I actually do wanna keep it,” he said. “I ain’t gon’ lie.”
Streamer University 2026 runs through Monday (July 20), leaving plenty of time for even more unexpected moments. For now, it’s still unclear whether Cenat’s newest furry companion will continue making appearances as the event unfolds.
