Following his departure from the 2026 FIFA World Cup — which he confirmed would be his final appearance in the tournament — Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to explore a new career path in television.
According to Deadline, the 41-year-old Portuguese football icon is attached to a new series from Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn. The project will center around an agent named Stanley Dalton and is based on an original concept from football agent Darren Dein. Titled Day 1s, the series has already begun production in London.
The show will feature appearances from several notable names, including Thierry Henry, Ronaldo’s former Premier League rival, rising actress Carlotta Banat, and rapper Dave.
Ronaldo is set to star in and executive produce Day 1s, marking the first project under Vaughn and Ronaldo’s newly launched UR Marv Studios banner. While the series has yet to secure a network or streaming home, a television insider told British tabloid The Sun that it could spark a major “bidding war” among leading platforms.
“The sheer calibre of figures behind it, not to mention the cast, means it’s a prestige project albeit a surprising one for Ronaldo as he crosses into making dramas,” the insider said.
Ronaldo participated in his record-tying sixth World Cup this year, which he revealed would be his last time competing on football’s biggest stage. Portugal’s campaign ended in the round of 16 after a defeat to Spain, who went on to win the tournament following a tense final against Argentina.
Recently, Ronaldo also drew attention after appearing to like an Instagram video that accused FIFA of favoring Argentina during the World Cup. The international football governing body has faced criticism from some fans and officials over claims of preferential treatment toward Argentina, particularly following controversial refereeing decisions during matches involving the team and Egypt.
