Russell Wilson Shares The Simple Secret Behind His Decade-Long Marriage To Ciara

Russell Wilson is opening up about the key to maintaining a strong marriage with Ciara for the past 10 years — and according to the former NFL star, it all begins with faith.

After recently celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary, Wilson revealed the relationship values that have helped keep their bond strong during an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City. Speaking with People, he explained that the foundation of their marriage is rooted in something simple.

“A lot of praying and just a lot of love,” Wilson said. “We have four amazing kids. I’m trying to see if she’ll let me have a fifth.”

The couple recently celebrated the milestone anniversary with a tropical vacation, and Wilson shared details about their getaway when asked how they marked the occasion. “We had a good time. Vacation on the beach, St. Barts, baby,” he said before reflecting on their decade together. “Ten years, it’s been amazing.”

The pair has also been making changes in their personal lives, recently putting their custom-built Rancho Santa Fe mansion back on the market for $45 million after cutting the original asking price by $10 million earlier this summer.

Despite the transitions, Wilson emphasized that family continues to be their top priority. He and Ciara share three children — daughter Sienna, son Win, and daughter Amora — while Wilson has also embraced his role as stepfather to Ciara’s oldest son, Future Zahir.

Earlier this month, Ciara celebrated their anniversary with an emotional Instagram tribute, giving fans a glimpse into their vacation memories. Alongside clips of herself practicing her golf swing on a yacht while Wilson supported her, she reflected on the 10 years they have shared together.

“Since the first day we met…we haven’t stopped laughing, dancing, dating, holding hands, being passionate, praying, forgiving, and having the best time of our lives!” she wrote. “I remember saying Yes like it was yesterday, and I would say Yes all over again.”

Wilson’s comments come during a year filled with major life changes. In June, he officially announced his retirement from the NFL after a 14-season career that included a Super Bowl victory with the Seattle Seahawks and a final run with the New York Giants. He has since moved into broadcasting, joining CBS’s The NFL Today as an analyst.

After revealing his retirement in June through an Instagram video highlighting his football career and family journey, Ciara showed her support in the comments.

“The best in the world!” she wrote. “There’s only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much.”
