A jury found him not guilty on every count in his trial, where prosecutors alleged that he arranged and funded a hit targeting Quando Rondo that resulted in the death of Lul Pab. Following the verdict, several figures across hip-hop have celebrated the defense’s victory, including 50 Cent, who recently praised Durk’s attorney Drew Findling on Instagram.
“Yes B!TCH I am Drew Finding The Billion dollar Lawyer., @drewfindling Not [Guilty] !” he captioned the post, which featured a photo of Findling speaking with members of the press.
Although the G-Unit mogul had remained relatively quiet about Durk’s case until now, 50 Cent had actually praised the rapper’s decision to bring Findling onto his legal team back in 2024. “Lil Durk got Drew Findling on the case he sharp, if they didn’t cross their T’s and dot their i’s he gonna hit the bricks again,” he wrote at the time. In light of Friday’s verdict, that old comment has taken on a particularly interesting meaning.
50 Cent’s comments add to the growing list of hip-hop reactions to Lil Durk’s verdict, with Ye, Drake, Young Thug, G Herbo, and several others also celebrating the outcome. With Durk’s next trial on racketeering-related charges scheduled for October 5, attention will now turn to how the case progresses and how the hip-hop community responds to any official updates and upcoming developments. For now, however, many are simply celebrating their fellow artist’s courtroom victory.
As for the attorney Fif praised, Drew Findling maintained his client’s innocence after deliberations concluded the day before the verdict. While some critics felt the defense was showing too much confidence, Friday’s outcome has effectively put those doubts to rest.
Another member of Durk’s legal team has also received recognition: Brian Steel. The attorney reportedly joined the case at Young Thug’s request after previously representing him in the YSL RICO case, where Steel secured a favorable outcome for the rapper. Following the verdict, DJ Akademiks shared a screenshot on Instagram showing OTF’s Doodie Lo on a FaceTime call with Steel shortly after the news spread online.
