Gene Deal isn’t taking Roger Bonds calling him a liar without firing back.
The former Bad Boy security figure and longtime MRECKTV guest went after Bonds during a new episode of the platform’s Shots Fired podcast, following Bonds’ public challenge to Deal’s version of an alleged incident from the Making the Band era. Deal stood firmly by his account while also questioning Bonds’ history with Bad Boy and bringing up some complicated BMF history in the process.
“I ain’t got no reason to lie,” Deal said. “And I ain’t got no reason to even speak to you about this, bro.”
The tension began after Bonds accused Deal of making up a story about Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly making a remark about drugging women. Bonds, who provided security for Combs during the 2000s, argued that Deal wasn’t even present when the alleged incident took place.
“Gene Deal just straight up and lied,” Bonds said. “If I’m not a part of it or I’m not there, I’m not speaking on it.”
Deal’s response was essentially to revisit the timeline.
He claimed the incident occurred while Da Band was still working with MTV on Making the Band and had not completely transitioned into the Bad Boy operation Bonds was describing. Deal also said Tony Dofat and other people were present in the studio when the alleged comment was made.
“For you to say that I wasn’t there when Da Band came—they was at MTV,” Deal fired back. “They wasn’t fully at Bad Boy.”
Deal then turned his attention to what he described as Bad Boy’s security setup at the time. He claimed that he and the late Anthony “Wolf” Jones were among the few security personnel working under their own contracts, while others were brought in through Greengate Security.
That’s when the discussion shifted into BMF territory.
Deal identified the late Paul Offord as the person who brought Bonds into the operation before making a serious allegation about Offord’s history.
“Paul Offord is the same [guy] that brought you in,” Deal said. “The same [guy] that snitched on BMF.”
Deal did not provide documentation during the segment to support the BMF allegation, nor did he accuse Bonds himself of informing on Black Mafia Family. Instead, he brought up Offord’s alleged history while challenging Bonds’ attempt to question his position within the Bad Boy security structure.
The exchange only became more heated from there.
Deal said Bonds could have contacted him privately through mutual connections instead of taking their disagreement public.
“If you had a problem with something I said,” Deal argued, there were several people Bonds could have reached out to. “But no, you wanted to make this an internet thing.”
Bonds has increasingly shared his own version of events publicly in recent years and is now the author of Bonds: Loyalty, Lies, and the Life That Almost Killed Me, a memoir covering his experiences with loyalty, incarceration, the entertainment industry, and years spent around influential figures.
Deal, however, made it clear that he has no interest in sitting down with Bonds to hash things out.
“You talk about, ‘You could bring me and Gene together on a podcast,’” Deal said. “Get the f*ck out of here.”
And when it comes to Bonds questioning his version of events? “I don’t lie to not one man, not one person,” Deal said.
