Offset Misses Deadline in Casino Debt Lawsuit, Risks Default Judgment

Offset could be facing a default judgment in a six-figure lawsuit brought by MotorCity Casino Hotel over an allegedly unpaid debt.

According to a court filing, a Michigan judge has directed the Detroit casino and resort to submit a motion for default judgment after Offset failed to respond to the lawsuit before the deadline. The order states that the motion must be heard by Oct. 23 at the latest.

The lawsuit claims Offset secured a $100,000 credit line in March 2024 before allegedly cutting off communication with MotorCity Casino Hotel and failing to repay the outstanding balance. The casino also claims its attempts to reach the rapper and collect the money directly from his account were unsuccessful because of insufficient funds.

When news of the lawsuit emerged in April, a representative for Offset said they were “working towards a resolution.”

Offset’s financial troubles have continued to grow, as he was ordered to pay just over $2.3 million in tax liens last year. The amount stems from IRS filings involving more than $2 million in unpaid federal taxes from 2023 and 2022, alongside nearly $300,000 in unpaid state taxes in Georgia dating back five years.

Lil Tjay and former NFL star Dez Bryant have also accused Offset of owing them money, with the total amount reportedly reaching $18,000.
