Aubrey O’Day Claims She Was Hit With Lawsuit Papers Mid-Performance at Honolulu Pride

Aubrey O’Day says she was served with a lawsuit just as she began her performance at Honolulu Pride.

The singer took to X to share how she managed to get through the night with the support of those closest to her.

“So much fun tonight for Honolulu Pride. I don’t know how I got through getting served a lawsuit as I started the show.. coming out of Covid with no voice the day before.. but I’m just thankful that I have surrounded myself with people who support me unconditionally. “

The Honolulu Pride Parade and Festival took place on Oct. 17, with the parade starting along Kalakaua Avenue at 3 p.m. and doors opening at 5 p.m. at the Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell. O’Day wrapped up the night during Act 3 of the mainstage program, performing in the 7 to 9 p.m. slot alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Anetra and DJ Mark Kanemura.

The former Danity Kane member has spent much of the past year speaking out against Sean “Diddy” Combs, emerging as one of his most vocal critics. She also appeared in the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, where she read an affidavit alleging that Combs and another man sexually assaulted her in 2005 at Bad Boy Records’ Manhattan studios.

Meanwhile, a separate civil lawsuit against Combs filed by her former bandmate Dawn Richard was largely dismissed by a federal judge in June, although one claim remained eligible to be refiled in state court.
