Jay-Z Responds to Tour Rumors Amid Online Backlash: ‘Question Everything in This World of AI’

During the final night of his JAŸ-Z30 Tour, Jay-Z spoke out about reports of low ticket prices and other criticism circulating online.

On Saturday (Oct. 24), during the second night of his run at SoFi Stadium, the rapper addressed the audience in Inglewood, California, urging fans to trust what they witnessed and heard for themselves rather than relying on what they might read online afterward.

“Y’all gotta be very aware of what’s going on in the world, right? People will tell you that nobody was in here tonight, but you got eyes, you can see. People will tell you that the music wasn’t great, but you got ears,” he said. “Question everything in this world of AI.”

Jay-Z’s message to fans came during a show featuring West Coast hip-hop icons Too $hort, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg. Too $hort took the stage to perform “Blow the Whistle,” while Dre and Snoop delivered a medley of “The Next Episode,” “California Love,” “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang,” and “Still D.R.E.”

Meanwhile, Jay-Z treated the crowd to several of his biggest hits, including “99 Problems,” “Empire State of Mind,” and “Big Pimpin.’”

Hov’s JAŸ-Z30 Tour marks his ninth headlining tour and his first solo live performances since the 4:44 Tour in 2017. The latest run celebrates the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.

The tour kicked off July 10 with three shows at Yankee Stadium, drawing a combined audience of 136,000 people. From there, Jay-Z took the tour to London and Paris before bringing it to Los Angeles. The first night at SoFi Stadium was sold out, with Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Rihanna among the stars watching from the crowd.
