Sharing her wins has reportedly become a complicated experience for Cardi B, who now believes some of the people closest to her may not genuinely celebrate her success. The rapper says jealousy has put a strain on relationships she once trusted, prompting her to reconsider how much access certain people should have to her life.
During an Instagram Live on Tuesday (Oct. 27), Cardi opened up about the lessons she’s still learning at 34. Despite reaching new milestones in her career, she explained that she’s grown increasingly wary of people who appear supportive but may secretly resent her achievements. She even admitted to feeling uneasy about sharing news of a new business deal because she’s concerned about how some of her friends might respond. “Being successful, it is so scary. You just don’t know who got that secret animosity for you,” she said.
Cardi clarified that her concerns weren’t about strangers criticizing her on social media. Instead, she was referring to people who have been part of her life for years, some of whom she believes intentionally try to bring her down a peg. Although she didn’t mention anyone by name, the rapper acknowledged that their behavior is beginning to influence her personality.
The conversation took a darker turn when Cardi opened up about the anger she’s been experiencing. She clarified that she wasn’t depressed or sad, but admitted that she was becoming increasingly mean toward people she felt had wronged her. “I’m starting to feel like I’m becoming an evil villain,” she confessed, explaining that her frustration had reached a point where she wanted to distance herself from relationships altogether.
Cardi also considered changing her phone number and cutting certain people out of her life. What seemed to trouble her most was the thought of someone accepting her friendship while secretly hoping she would fail. At one point, a viewer asked if she was seeing a therapist. Cardi revealed that she hadn’t attended therapy in a while and had no interest in returning, instead expressing her anger through a profane statement wishing death on those upsetting her. She also admitted to having violent thoughts when reflecting on perceived betrayals, though she did not name a specific target or outline any plan to harm anyone.
The comments come as Cardi continues to enjoy commercial success with her sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, and her 2026 Little Miss Drama Tour. While her career achievements prompted the discussion, she offered no details about the personal relationships she believes have deteriorated.
Rather than go to bed and risk dwelling on the situation, Cardi said she intended to keep herself occupied with exercise. As reported, she told viewers that sitting alone with her thoughts could lead her to focus on revenge, so she planned to get back to doing squats.
