Kim Kardashian was allegedly held at gunpoint by a police officer during an October 2018 trip to Uganda with her then-husband, Kanye West.
The allegation is detailed in Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, a new biography written by journalist Jonathan Van Meter.
Farnaz Farjam, executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, told Van Meter that Kardashian and West’s marriage had reached a “point of no return” by that time. The former couple, who married in 2014, finalized their divorce in 2022. They share four children: North West, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
According to Farjam, West became “paranoid and agitated” while filming at a remote location in Uganda. At the time, he was reportedly working on his unreleased album, Yandhi.
“He basically got the local police to believe that there were people trying to drug him, and so they came and they had guns out,” Farjam said, according to Page Six. “He had them raid everybody’s rooms.”
Farjam described the alleged incident as “intense,” explaining that she took urgent steps to evacuate the show’s crew from the area. “I ended up having to get a private jet and get my crew out of there,” she recalled.
By the time the police officers approached the SKIMS founder, Farjam alleged that “one of the policemen had a gun to Kim’s head.”
The television producer also revealed that she eventually found it possible to forgive West, pointing to his struggles with bipolar disorder. The 24-time Grammy winner discussed how the condition contributed to his antisemitic outbursts in a full-page letter published in The Wall Street Journal in January.
The alleged Uganda incident would mark another account of Kardashian facing a gunpoint ordeal. In October 2016, five men ambushed her during a robbery at her Paris residence while she was in the city for Fashion Week. The entrepreneur testified during the trial in 2025, which resulted in eight defendants being convicted.
