Kevin Gates Says He ‘Ain’t Mad’ About Handing Ex-Wife More Than $1 Million in Divorce Settlement

Kevin Gates appears unfazed by the prospect of handing over more than $1 million to his estranged wife, Dreka Gates, from the proceeds of his music catalog sale.

During a recent interview on The TMZ Podcast, the Baton Rouge rapper spoke about a court order directing him to make a seven-figure payment to Dreka amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

Asked about the payment, Gates indicated that the amount wasn’t bothering him, explaining that generosity has always been part of how he treats those he loves.

“Anybody I ever loved, I gave them the world, so a portion? What is a portion to somebody that can give you the world?” Gates said. “I ain’t mad at nothing. I’m blessed.”

As previously reported, court documents show that a judge ordered Dreka to receive $929,341.50 in child and spousal support, in addition to another $150,000. The payments bring her total settlement to $1,079,341.50.

The court’s order further sets aside $125,000 for Dreka’s legal team, $100,000 for her accountant, Harvey Bezozi, and another $103,000 for Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services.

On the other hand, Gates will receive an initial payment of $538,798, followed by monthly installments of $225,000 starting in October.

Gates and Dreka tied the knot in October 2015 and have two children together, Islah and Khaza. Dreka initiated divorce proceedings in July 2025, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.

Several months later, she sought $27,193 in monthly child support and an additional $46,274 in spousal support. She alleged that Gates began to “dismantle the financial foundation of their family” in 2021.

Their divorce proceedings have also been marked by several disputes. Earlier this year, Gates challenged the legal recognition of their marriage, arguing that they had wed under Islamic law rather than in a ceremony recognized by the state.

He further accused Dreka of taking money from him, including funds he claimed were used to finance a dispensary that shut down shortly after opening. However, Dreka’s attorney, Marty Singer, dismissed the allegations as “completely false and fabricated.”
