Cardi B Speaks Out Against Bullying in New York City Following the Murder of 15-Year-Old Student

Cardi B is never shy about speaking her mind on social media, whether she’s discussing personal struggles or reacting to events happening around her. During an Instagram livestream captured by Hollywood Unlocked, the rapper addressed the killing of 15-year-old Bronx student Javits Frimpong, condemning what she described as a bullying culture in New York City. She also admitted that the situation makes her hesitant to raise her children near New York public schools or in its neighbourhoods.

“The kids in New York are mean, nasty as f**k,” the “ErrTime” rapper said. “That makes you want to join a gang… So people can stop f***ing with you, ’cause that’s practically what happened to me… Teach your kids to be f***ing kind, beause it starts with you… [They] are extremely xenophobic. If you come from another country, they gon’ pick on your a** real f***ing bad. It’s extremely sad…”

According to ABC 7 New York, Javits Frimpong’s father believes bullying played a role in his son’s murder. He claimed that some of the students involved had recently been suspended for bullying his son. Javits reportedly moved from Ghana last year to live with his father. No arrests have been made, and authorities have yet to confirm the identities of any suspects or perpetrators. Police are still searching for three teenagers who reportedly fled the scene following the killing.

Meanwhile, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie honoured Javits Frimpong during a concert on Friday, October 30, as captured by XGhana on Twitter. The Bronx rapper paused the show for a moment of silence and addressed the teenager’s tragic story.

The tragedy has deeply saddened people across New York City and beyond. Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation as the story attracts increasing national attention and sparks conversations online. Several celebrities and individuals from different backgrounds have also come forward to express their grief and offer condolences.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie frequently honours people at his concerts, as seen in his previous tributes to PnB Rock and others. It remains to be seen whether more public figures will speak out about the tragedy and share their thoughts as the investigation unfolds.
