Lil Tay is back stirring controversy, this time urging women to ditch higher education and launch an OnlyFans instead.
On Saturday (Aug. 16), the viral star hit Instagram to share her unfiltered take on money, work, and schooling. She told her followers—especially women—that chasing a degree or a 9-to-5 is a waste compared to “dropping a link.”
“If you’re under the age of 25 and you’re still working a 9-5 you are a failure,” Tay declared. “Like, by then you should’ve already made your bag, and ladies, every single one of you should drop the link like me. Just literally just make your bag. Who gives a fuck what anybody thinks.”
She claimed her family cut ties with her over her choices but brushed it off, saying she could “buy their whole life” if she wanted. Then she doubled down, taking shots at higher learning altogether.
“Also fuck an education ’cause Harvard was never gonna help me make 8 figures,” she added. “That’s why I dropped out of it and I dropped the link instead.”
While Lil Tay didn’t spell out exactly what she meant by “dropping a link,” the phrase is widely understood online as sharing an OnlyFans link—a platform where creators, including adult content stars, sell subscription-based content.
Tay has already claimed she raked in a million dollars within three hours of launching her OnlyFans, which she debuted immediately after turning 18.
Her latest comments sparked a storm of mixed reactions. Some applauded her for rejecting traditional career routes, while others slammed her for putting down education and mocking young people still chasing their goals.
“Sorry girl but I’m going to college,” one fan wrote. Another fired back, “So being a doctor means I’ll be a failure?”
Meanwhile, another supporter chimed in, “If you ain’t listening to lil tay by now you are trying to be a failure.”
