Jackée Harry rang in her 69th birthday with the same playful charm that made her a TV favorite.
On Thursday, Aug. 14, the actress took to Instagram with a cheeky post: “69 and still fine! I thought I’d be in San Diego by now – retired, cocktail in hand, cabana boy on call. But child… I’m still here, still laughing, still blessed to do what I love and call it work. Now THAT’S the real happy hour. Thanks for all the birthday wishes and continued support! Luv ya much!!!.”
The birthday love rolled in fast from friends and longtime collaborators. Her Sister, Sister co-star Tim Reid shared, “Happy Born day to this talented and wonderful woman who always challenged me to be a better performer. Love you madly.”
Tamera Mowry-Housley jumped in with, “Happy birthday Jackee!!!!” while Wanda Sykes praised her with, “Happy Birthday! They keep calling, cause you keep hitting it out the park!” Vivica A. Fox added, “Happy Blessed Birthday BEAUTIFUL QUEEN! #LifeIsGood #LeoNation.” Loretta Devine and Tami Roman also dropped in with heartfelt wishes.
It’s fitting for a star whose career has stayed strong across decades. For ’90s kids, Jackée Harry will forever be tied to Sister, Sister alongside Reid and Mowry-Housley. She’s also remained a steady force in daytime TV with Days of Our Lives. More recently, she was spotted at the 51st Daytime Emmy Awards on June 7, 2024, and appeared in Project Angel Food’s Lead With Love fifth anniversary special later that month.
When asked by PEOPLE in 2024 about her personal life, Jackée kept it real: “Yes, it’s gotten better. Yes, keep hope alive.” She went on to add, “I’m learning to put my personal happiness in front of my career. That’s the most important thing that’s happened to me. That’s my advice to young people, your personal happiness is important; put it ahead of your career, if you can. But if I had to do it again, I would still do it the same.”
