Love Island season seven alum Ace Green isn’t so sure about the romance between Nicolas “Nic” Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen.
Appearing on the Wednesday (August 27) episode of Speedy’s Little Vlogs with Complex’s Speedy Morman, Ace opened up about his experience on the Peacock series and weighed in on whether some of his former castmates are still together.
When asked directly if he believed Nic and Olandria’s relationship was genuine, Ace paused in silence. Speedy laughed and followed up, suggesting the hesitation might be because Ace considers Olandria a “close friend.” Ace nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, it really is tough for me because again, we just—like she just came out here for Chelley’s birthday and we all spent time together at the club, just kicking it,” Ace explained.
“So I have a lot of respect for Olandria. But again, from the last conversation that I’ve had with Nick, it was a matter of, ‘It’s not a romantic spark,’” he added. “They just find each other attractive.”
Ace went on to share that he does believe the romance between fellow Love Island alums Taylor Williams and Clarke Carraway is the real deal. But when pressed on whether the other couples are “not so much” genuine, he stayed quiet again—this time with a smirk.
Despite his doubts, Nic and Olandria have leaned fully into their PDA since the show wrapped, showing off their affection on social media and during TV appearances. The pair have quickly become fan favorites, even though they didn’t take home the Love Island crown.
Following Ace’s interview, fans have accused him of throwing shade at Nic and Olandria—pointing out that he still hasn’t made things official with Michelle “Chelly” Bissainthe.
