Demi Lovato isn’t shy about opening up in her music — but one recent overshare left her blushing in real life.
While previewing tracks from her upcoming ninth album It’s Not That Deep for friends, Demi says she accidentally revealed more than just music. In a new clip from Bri Morales’ Are You Okay? series released Saturday (Sept. 20), the “Cool for the Summer” star recounted the hilarious but awkward mishap.
She explained that while trying to play songs, she mistakenly AirPlayed an NSFW photo to the screen in front of everyone — giving her friends an eyeful they weren’t expecting.
While showing friends the video for her single “Here All Night,” Demi Lovato says she accidentally shared something that was definitely not meant for them.
“I had taken a nude for my husband as like, a little sexy surprise, and I accidentally airplayed it to the TV,” Demi told Bri Morales in the Are You Okay? series.
Luckily, Lovato has learned to laugh at these kinds of slip-ups. Over the years, plenty of her awkward moments have gone viral — from the “Poot Lovato” meme born out of an unflattering photo, to the time she answered a question about her favorite dish with, “a mug.”
When asked if there was anything she’d erase from the internet, Demi said, “Nothing. Embrace the memes.” She did add one tongue-in-cheek piece of advice: “Maybe don’t sing to ghosts,” before a clip rolled of her belting “Skyscraper” to spirits in a 2021 video.
As for the music, Demi’s ninth album It’s Not That Deep drops Friday, Oct. 24. With singles like “Fast” and “Here All Night” already showing a shift from her signature ballads to club-ready pop anthems, fans can expect a bold new era.
