Ray J claims that his notorious 2006 sex tape with Kim Kardashian wasn’t leaked without permission — he says Kim agreed to its release, and Kris Jenner was the one who masterminded the whole thing.
According to TMZ, the R&B singer and reality TV star has fired back with his own lawsuit amid his ongoing legal battles with Kim and Kris. In the newly filed documents, Ray J alleges Jenner personally oversaw the rollout of the explicit tape.
He says he and the SKIMS founder recorded the tape in 2003, three years before it went public, and alleges that Kardashian wanted her mother to handle the release and capitalize on it commercially.
On Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim claimed the tape was shared without her consent — a narrative Ray J insists was fabricated.
In the lawsuit, Ray J’s attorney Howard King writes that Kardashian and Jenner “spent two decades peddling the false story that the sex tape … was leaked against her will.” Ray J added that he’s “furious” and “no longer wants to play along with their tall tale.”
Ray J also says that Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, piled on by ridiculing him and joining Kim and Kris in portraying him as someone who assaulted Kardashian, threatened revenge porn, and attempted extortion.
He alleges that the Kardashians and their production team struck a $6 million deal with him, agreeing the sex tape wouldn’t be mentioned on the family’s reality series — a promise he says they didn’t keep.
Last month, Kim and Kris countersued Ray J for defamation after he said on the Tubi documentary United States vs. Sean Combs that the family should face racketeering charges.
Back in September, during a livestream with Chrisean Rock, Ray J also claimed the family was under a federal investigation similar to Diddy’s.
Kim and Kris dismissed Ray J’s statements as “blatantly false,” saying the accusations have caused “substantial and ongoing harm to their personal and professional reputation.” Ray J is now seeking $1 million in damages.
