Boosie Badazz’s upcoming sentencing in his federal gun case has officially been moved to Jan. 9.
The Baton Rouge rapper was originally set to learn his fate on Nov. 21, but the hearing was pushed back at his request on Friday (Nov. 14).
That same day, while appearing on The Breakfast Club, Boosie made it clear he feels “confident” he won’t be returning to prison — even though prosecutors are expected to recommend a 24-month sentence.
“I’m confident like a muthafucka,” he told the hosts. “I ain’t going to jail. I don’t speak that out my mouth. I’m from down South. Your word, your mouth, is a powerful source.”
Still, Boosie noted the final call isn’t his to make.
“It’s still up to the judge,” he added. “It’s up to God, but it’s up to the judge. You know, people saying, ‘He gotta do two years.’ That’s not a fact of this case. It’s up to the judge what the judge wanna do. I’m confident, man. I’m chin up, chest high.”
Despite the bravado, Boosie admitted he’s mentally prepared for any outcome — mostly because, for once, he feels the legal deck isn’t stacked against him.
“I don’t have a judge that hates me this time,” he said. “I’ve always had judges that crucified me.”
In October, reports surfaced that Boosie had hired lobbyists to appeal directly to President Donald Trump in hopes of securing a pardon.
According to the website Legistom, Boosie enlisted the firm J.M. Burkman & Associates, whose lobbyists Jack Burkman and Jacob Whol stated their explicit goal was “seeking a presidential pardon” for the rapper, whom they described as a “rapper and world-class musician.”
The move came months after Boosie publicly pleaded with Trump on X.
“Trump CHECK MY CASE OUT MY CASE WAS DISMISSED BUT BIDENS DOJ RECHARGED ME WITH THE SAME GUN CHARGE BIDEN PARDON HIS SON OF .I WAS TOLD I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE COUNTRY FACING THAT CHARGE NOW,” Boosie wrote, before detailing the history of his legal struggles.
“N TRUMP IM BOOSIE IM A RAPPER/ FILMMAKER FROM BATON ROUGE .I WAS TARGETED.. MY MOUTH N THINGS I STAND ON GET ME N ALOT SHIT BUT IM REAL! My lawyer MEGHAN BLANCO can explain this case,” he continued. “She knew the charges n against you were bad she even spoke about it on radio.”
