Nicki Minaj Shares the Stage With Donald Trump in Michigan, Gets Shoutout for Her “Beautiful A**”

Nicki Minaj joined President Donald Trump in Michigan on Sunday for a midterm rally, arriving at Selfridge Air National Guard Base aboard Air Force One while dressed head-to-toe in Gucci. Her appearance marks another campaign trail moment with Trump ahead of the November midterms, coming just days after the pair reaffirmed their admiration for each other publicly.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung shared a video from the trip and joked that Minaj could take over the vacant press secretary position. “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ,” Cheung wrote on X. The joke came after Katie Zacharia left the press secretary role following roughly five days in the position. Nicki responded by quote-tweeting Cheung’s post with “🇺🇸.” However, the exchange was purely a joke and did not represent an official appointment.

Another clip from the rally has also sparked plenty of reactions across social media. During Trump’s midterm rally speech in Port Huron, he turned the spotlight on Nicki Minaj with an unexpected comment. “By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before. Nicki Minaj! That’s hard to miss. Stand up!”

The exchange may not come as a complete surprise, given the friendly relationship between the two. Minaj’s appearance in Michigan also aligns with the political support she has expressed over the past several months. She has encouraged her fans to “vote red”, described herself as Trump’s “number one fan”, and told Fox News that she supports him because she “just love[s] him.”

Trump making remarks about a woman’s body from a presidential podium is hardly new. He has made similar comments over the years, both during campaign appearances and in past interviews. Hearing the president openly comment on Nicki Minaj’s backside before asking her to stand up has drawn attention to his longstanding way of speaking about women in front of the cameras. While such remarks may be unusual for a modern White House setting, they fit a pattern Trump has displayed for years.
