Megan Thee Stallion is teaming up with The Boondocks producer Carl Jones for a new anime series, though fans still haven’t gotten an official preview.
The Houston star has continued expanding beyond music, building her brand as an entrepreneur, businesswoman, and now an aspiring anime creator. She’s currently working on a series for Amazon Prime Video reportedly titled Hotties alongside Carl Jones, a move that highlights her longtime love for anime. But the excitement around the project recently sparked some misinformation online — something Megan quickly stepped in to clear up.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday (March 8), Megan addressed a viral clip that many fans believed was a teaser or early look at the anime. The clip shows a character with twerking powers, which some viewers thought perfectly matched her vibe. However, Megan explained that the footage actually came from a scrapped music video.
“This is NOT a ‘sneak peek’ or a ‘snippet’ of my new anime ‘hotties’ …” Tina Snow wrote while quote-tweeting a fan who said they saw the clip at BlerDCon. “this clip was from a music video to my song gift and a curse I never put out… everybody RELAX yall DO NOT know what my show looks like yet lol. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A SNIPPET OF MY NEW ANIME!!”
Even so, plenty of fans seemed to love the clip. With the positive reaction, it wouldn’t be surprising if the moment ends up inspiring elements of Hotties down the line.

The fan Megan responded to had attended BlerDCon 2026 in Virginia over the weekend. The event is known as a “Black Nerd Convention,” celebrating different areas of pop culture through guest speakers, panels, gaming tournaments, media showcases, and more.
The fan also reportedly got the chance to meet Carl Jones in person. It remains to be seen whether he’ll comment on the clip going viral or if the team behind Hotties might take inspiration from it for the series.
Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion could have another feud brewing. After she laughed at Cardi B’s “Pretty & Petty” diss track aimed at BIA, the BIANCA rapper fired back by posting Nicki Minaj’s “Big Foot” diss directed at Megan on her Instagram Story. She also shared a screenshot from Megan’s interview with Gayle King, appearing to mock her over claims that she lied during it.
That comment referenced Megan Thee Stallion’s case involving the shooting incident with Tory Lanez. Despite the ongoing criticism and online chatter, Megan continues to move forward — while also stepping in to clear up any misinformation about her upcoming projects. And if nothing else, fans can probably expect her to show off her real-life twerking skills online again soon, something her supporters always enjoy.
