Authorities in Los Angeles are investigating a shooting that reportedly targeted Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home on Sunday afternoon, according to TMZ.
Police say officers responded to reports of gunfire outside the property around 1:21 p.m. A 30-year-old woman was taken into custody after allegedly firing several shots toward the residence from inside her vehicle.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that multiple rounds were fired, with at least one bullet striking the mansion. A source told the Los Angeles Times that “a round penetrated a wall of the mansion,” though authorities said no one was injured during the incident. Rihanna was reportedly inside the home at the time.
LAPD spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan de Vera confirmed the key details of the shooting.
“The suspect fired multiple rounds from inside her vehicle toward the celebrity’s home in Beverly Hills,” de Vera said, adding that no injuries were reported.
The suspect was quickly detained at the scene and remains in custody while investigators work to determine a motive. Rihanna is believed to live at the colonial-style Beverly Hills property in the Post Office neighborhood with A$AP Rocky, and the couple share three children together. It’s still unclear if anyone else was inside the home when the shots were fired.
Authorities have not yet released further information about the suspect or confirmed whether the shooting specifically targeted the singer. Investigators are continuing to review evidence and speak with witnesses as the case develops.
The incident represents a troubling security breach involving one of the world’s biggest entertainers, though officials say the quick response helped ensure that no one was hurt.
