While Blanco’s wife, singer and actress Selena Gomez, already showed where she stands on the issue by kissing his bare foot in a recent Instagram post, the producer used Tuesday, March 10’s episode of the podcast to clear things up himself.
The episode, fittingly titled “The Ed Sheeran Episode,” features Blanco’s close friend and longtime collaborator Ed Sheeran. During the conversation, Blanco asked Sheeran about his own bathing habits before confidently setting the record straight. “I smell good,” he said, adding that even though he doesn’t shower every single day, he’s never had a problem — despite people assuming otherwise based on appearances.
Sheeran backed him up, praising Blanco and saying he’s actually “the best-smelling person I know.”
Blanco even took things a step further by asking Ed Sheeran and his co-hosts, David Burd (professionally known as Lil Dicky) and his wife Kristin Batalucco, to smell his hands to confirm that he actually smelled good. While the moment clearly played into the ongoing public discussion about Blanco’s hygiene, the group also ended up sharing how often they bathe, making for a surprisingly interesting exchange as they compared answers.
Blanco, whose highly public relationship with Selena Gomez has kept him in the spotlight over the past few years, has long collaborated with artists like Sheeran in the studio. He most recently dropped new music with Gomez, with their album I Said I Love You First debuting at No. 2 in the United States.
