Snoop Dogg Says Michael Jackson Biopic Left Him Feeling “Inspired” As He Opens Up About His Own Film

Snoop Dogg is reportedly continuing work on his long-discussed biopic, and according to the Long Beach legend, the upcoming Michael Jackson film gave him fresh motivation for the project.

Fans have been hearing about a possible Snoop Dogg biopic for years, especially those who followed his rise from the very beginning of his mainstream career. Now, while appearing on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Snoop opened up about how seeing the Michael Jackson movie reignited his excitement about telling his own story on the big screen.

“When I seen the Michael Jackson movie, that was inspiring,” Snoop shared. “Very inspiring, because it was great storytelling. The acting, the believability, and the nephew becoming Mike. Just, performances. All of that sh*t. It just was exciting to see. I put a spark in me.”

Snoop also revealed that he got the chance to watch the film ahead of its official release. Big Boy chimed in, saying he attended a private screening as well and thought the movie was incredible. He then asked Snoop whether watching a production on that level got him thinking more seriously about how his own story could be told.

“It gets you into a mode of storytelling,” Snoop explained. “You look at the storytelling, you look at the characters, and you look at how much you know, and how much you didn’t know.”

Big Boy later asked whether it would feel strange for Snoop to eventually sit down and watch a film based on his own life.

“I mean, I never looked at my highlights, so I don’t really know what my life was,” Snoop admitted. “I’m living life. So, if I see something, I hear it, I’m amused by it. Because it’s like, ‘Damn. I did that? That was me?’ ‘Cause I don’t watch me. I’m too busy doing me.”
