Kodak Black recently announced that he is officially a free agent. Following the release of Kodak The Blessing, the Florida rapper revealed that he has fulfilled his contract with Capitol Records, leaving his next career move entirely up to him. One artist who has already expressed interest in signing him is Young Thug.
“If he would do a deal with me, I would give that boy whateva he think he want #NoCizzy,” Thug wrote.
The proposal sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans argued that Kodak Black would be better off staying independent, others supported the idea of him joining forces with Young Thug.
Fortunately for Thug, Kodak doesn’t seem to be against the possibility—although he has a few conditions. During a recent livestream, Yak jokingly listed what it would take to get him to sign, including a $100 million deal and a collaborative album with Mariah The Scientist. While the album request appears far more realistic than the nine-figure payday, his comments suggest he’s at least open to discussing a potential partnership.
With Kodak Black entering a new phase of his career, some fans believe Young Thug could provide the fresh opportunity and support he needs.
Kodak The Blessing features 26 tracks and includes appearances from 1900Rugrat, Albee Al, Friday, Rylo Rodriguez, and several others. If Kodak reaches a new deal in the near future, fans could be treated to another project before the end of the summer.
In other Kodak Black news, the rapper recently caught fans off guard after claiming that he, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West make up a group he referred to as “KKK.” The remark quickly drew attention, though Kodak insisted the meaning behind it was different from what many assumed.
“We woke. Like, we pro-Black,” he said. He continued, “We woke, and we smart. And we Jews. We’re Black Jews, we Israelites,” while displaying a chain featuring a Star of David pendant.
We’ll continue to provide updates on Kodak Black as the story develops. Do you think signing with Young Thug would be the right move for his career? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
