Ye Claims Text Messages Criticizing Playboi Carti’s Rolling Loud Set Are Fabricated

The artist formerly known as Kanye West is making it clear he’s not envious about Nav joining Playboi Carti onstage at Rolling Loud.

After Carti’s guest-packed Rolling Loud performance on Sunday, March 16, a screenshot supposedly from Ye’s Instagram began circulating online. The alleged texts showed Ye questioning Carti about not bringing him out despite featuring numerous other artists. “Had a whole damn chessboard with all of those pawns,” the fake messages read. “You even had Nav up there. … And why is Kai so short. … Fucking Nav bro really.”

To eliminate any confusion, Ye reposted the screenshot with a simple clarification: “This is not real,” confirming he apparently has no issues with Nav.

Nav made an appearance during Carti’s major Rolling Loud set but didn’t actually perform. Other guests included The Weeknd, Kai Cenat, and Skepta.

While Ye wasn’t trash-talking Nav, he did express some strong opinions about Kendrick Lamar following his three features on Carti’s new album, MUSIC. “I don’t like Kendrick Lamar’s music,” he tweeted in all-caps. “He raps very good but I didn’t need to hear him on Carti album.”
