Soulja Boy clapped back after Plies dropped his copyright lawsuit over the “Wanna Be” sample.
Billboard reported Monday that Plies (real name Algernod Washington) dismissed the lawsuit on Friday “without prejudice,” meaning he could potentially refile later.

Soulja Boy fired back at Plies on Instagram Monday night after the lawsuit was dropped, posting a screenshot of the Billboard article with the caption: “Just like I thought sit yo lil broke ass down nigga. This my shit dummy.”
Last November, Plies sued Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Cardi B, and Soulja for copyright infringement, claiming his 2008 track “Me & My Goons” introduced an “infrared countdown beat” later used in Soulja’s 2010 hit “Pretty Boy Swag.”
Megan and Glo were named after using the same beat on “Wanna Be,” released last April. Soulja received a writing credit for the legally-cleared sample, with Cardi B later appearing on a remix that dissed BIA.
“‘Pretty Boy Swag’ is not your [beat],” Soulja responded in a November video. “So you wanna wait 10 years to try to sue a n***a for a beat? That is not your beat, crazy man… What the fuck is wrong with you, Plies?”
“You need to change your name to ‘Lies,’ ’cause you a muthafuckin’ liar… You know that ain’t your muthafuckin’ beat, bro,” he added.
It’s unclear if there was a settlement. The lawsuit never explained why Plies waited 14 years to take legal action against Soulja.
