Ja Rule doesn’t think Drake needs anyone’s advice when it comes to his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar.
Appearing on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast with Carmelo Anthony, Ja spoke about Drake, his own long-standing beef with 50 Cent, and the effects of rap rivalries. When asked what guidance he’d offer Drake, he made it clear he wouldn’t.
“Why I gotta advise Drake?” he laughed. “Why can’t I advise Kendrick?”
Then he broke it down simply: “Drake don’t need no advice. Drake is rich, got a big ass plane. Have you seen his plane? What we talking about Drake for, man? That n***a chilling, man.”
Ja went on to call Drake’s career run “unprecedented,” even comparing it to that of the late Michael Jackson, whose biopic is expected next year.
He also reflected on the downsides of rap feuds in general, citing his own with 50 Cent. “You look at Kendrick and Drake—nothing good comes from any of these things,” Ja said. “Like me and 50’s shit, that messed up New York hip-hop. It really did.”
Iceman, Drake’s first solo album since his feud with Kendrick Lamar erupted, is reportedly set to drop before the end of the year.
