Kodak Black celebrated his 29th birthday this week by surprising fans with a brand-new mixtape.
Titled Kodak The Blessing, the project features 26 fresh tracks and includes appearances from several collaborators, including fellow South Florida rapper 1900Rugrat.
Alongside the mixtape’s release on streaming platforms, Kodak also dropped an official music video for “Nunchucks,” featuring 1900Rugrat. The visual was directed by Kodak himself, adding another personal touch to the birthday release.
Fans can now stream Kodak The Blessing, which also features appearances from Fridayy, G Thugg, Shadea Charai, Albee Al, Reese Youngn, Rylo Rodriguez, and Lil Crix through Vulture Love and Capitol Records.
1900Rugrat’s involvement is especially notable given that he previously credited Kodak Black as one of his early musical influences. During a 2025 interview with Dimas Sanfiorenzo, the Florida rapper reflected on the artists who shaped his taste in music growing up.
“I always listen to Chief Keef,” Rugrat, whose real name is Miles Spiel, said. “I grew up on Lil Wayne but at that time—it was like 2016—I was really fucking with Kodak, Yachty, Lil Uzi [Vert], all the shit that was really popping at that time that everybody was bumping. I ain’t find my music taste at that point. But I always fucked with Sosa.”
To celebrate the release of the mixtape, Kodak is hosting a listening party on Friday (June 12) at Mr. Jones, a popular nightclub in the Miami Beach area. The festivities will continue on Sunday (June 14), when Kodak and his team bring the celebration to LIV.
Kodak The Blessing arrives less than a year after the release of Just Getting Started, a project that featured several guest appearances, including one from Pharrell. The new mixtape adds another chapter to Kodak’s busy run of releases as he celebrates his 29th birthday.
