Meghan Markle Allegedly Told Her Dad, Thomas, He Would Never Meet Her Children in 2025 Letter

Meghan Markle reportedly sent a firm message to her estranged father while he was hospitalized last December, informing him that she was aware of allegations that he had sexually abused children and that he would never meet his grandchildren as a result.

According to CBS News, the Duchess of Sussex addressed Thomas Markle Sr. in a letter delivered to his hospital bed in the United States in December 2025. The letter reportedly came six years after Meghan first became aware of disturbing allegations involving her father.

The correspondence allegedly told Thomas Sr., 82, that Meghan and authorities “knew he had abused young girls.” It also reportedly made clear that Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, would not have any contact with their grandfather.

Thomas Sr. reportedly received the letter while recovering in his hospital room. Although he acknowledged getting correspondence from his daughter, he said he could not recall its exact contents.

“If Meghan says that’s what she wrote, then she’s probably right,” he said.

The reported exchange adds another layer to Meghan’s eight-year estrangement from her father, a family rift that has attracted public attention since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

It also comes as Thomas Sr. faces an investigation in the Philippines over allegations that he possessed a significant collection of child sexual abuse material.

His son, Thomas Markle Jr., reportedly alerted authorities after discovering hundreds, potentially thousands, of suspected illegal images and videos among belongings kept at their former residence in Cebu.

Philippine police are examining the alleged material, while the FBI has confirmed it is aware of the accusations and will assist investigators where appropriate.

Thomas Sr. has strongly denied any wrongdoing.

“I’ve never downloaded anything like that in my life,” he told the Daily Mail, describing the allegations as “sick lies.”

He later acknowledged paying for sex during visits to the Philippines but maintained that he had never engaged in sexual activity with anyone under 18.

No criminal charges have been announced against him.

Meanwhile, the reported hospital letter from Meghan follows revelations that British authorities had received allegations involving her father years before the current investigation.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a letter containing allegations of offenses committed outside the United Kingdom was shared with Meghan and Harry in January 2019.

Meghan initially recalled receiving the warning in 2018, but her representatives later clarified the timeline.

In a statement, the Duchess said authorities had assured her that they were investigating the allegations.

“I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them,” she said.

The latest revelations come after years of public appeals from Thomas Sr., who has repeatedly criticized his daughter in interviews while expressing a desire to reconcile with her.

Their relationship deteriorated in the lead-up to Meghan’s royal wedding after he participated in staged paparazzi photographs. He ultimately missed the ceremony, citing medical issues.

However, the newly reported correspondence suggests that Meghan had already communicated a firm decision about her children’s relationship with their grandfather before the current allegations became public.

CBS News noted that the specific allegations referenced in Meghan’s December letter remain unclear. Investigators have not established whether they are connected to the material allegedly discovered in the Philippines.

Meghan, meanwhile, has urged authorities to keep their focus on protecting victims.

“My sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children,” she said.
