If they weren’t at SoFi Stadium over the weekend, chances are some of your favorite artists were in New York City celebrating Drake’s 40th birthday. The celebrations brought the OVO crew together, with festivities ranging from Toronto’s CN Tower to upscale Italian restaurants before the main event on Saturday. Naturally, the star-studded gathering featured plenty of notable guests, including appearances from The Backstreet Boys and Bow Wow.
Travis Scott and Future were among the artists who showed up for the formal celebration. Their presence was particularly notable given the tensions between Drake and several fellow rappers just two years ago. A video from the party surfaced showing Scott and Future hanging out with Loe Shimmy while vibing to unreleased music. Cash Cobain was also among those in attendance.
It’s hardly surprising that both rappers showed up for the celebration. Drake and Future appear to have put their differences behind them since the release of “Like That.” Meanwhile, Travis Scott has managed to stay out of the crossfire that saw collaborators from both sides take shots at each other.
Beyond previewing new music, Loe Shimmy also came through with an extravagant gift for Drake as he entered his 40s, seemingly in appreciation of the rapper’s longstanding support. Shimmy gifted The Boy a brand-new Ferrari, a generous gesture following their collaboration on Habibti.
It’s clear that Drake had plenty of familiar faces around him to celebrate such a significant milestone. On the music front, rumors are also circulating that Drizzy could headline Coachella next year, giving him even more to look forward to.
