Sean “Diddy” Combs is pushing back against a TMZ report claiming he was caught drinking alcohol at Fort Dix.
A statement posted to the music mogul’s official X account dismissed the allegations as completely untrue.
“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” the statement read. “His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
TMZ reported on Nov. 7 that Sean “Diddy” Combs was allegedly caught with homemade alcohol made from Fanta, sugar, and apples. According to the outlet, prison officials initially planned to move him to a different unit but later decided against it.
Following the report, Diddy’s family spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, released a statement to TMZ addressing the claims.
“Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day,” Engelmayer said. “As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose.”
The allegations surfaced shortly after Diddy told a judge during sentencing that he was sober for the first time in 25 years. His attorneys had also requested that he serve his time at Fort Dix to help him continue addressing substance issues while staying close to his family for rehabilitation purposes.
Meanwhile, Diddy has reportedly been assigned his first prison job — handling laundry for other inmates. TMZ noted that the hip-hop mogul will be earning his keep behind bars by managing prisoners’ clothes.
