Amerie’s Divorce Documents Show She Brings In About $5,000 Per Month in Income

Amerie’s divorce has now been finalized, and court documents from the proceedings have revealed new details about her finances.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the singer’s estimated monthly income is listed at $5,735, while her ex-husband, music executive Lenny Nicholson, reportedly earns $10,000 per month.

The filings also state that the former couple does not share any real estate holdings or joint bank accounts. Amerie was awarded primary custody of their only child, while Nicholson was ordered to pay $2,298 in support and was granted limited parenting time.

As part of the settlement, Amerie will maintain ownership of her business ventures, including Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring, and Mi Suk Publishing, along with her 2016 Range Rover. The court also ordered Nicholson to return Amerie’s television tracks and external hard drive containing her music files.

News of the split first surfaced last summer when the 46-year-old singer filed for divorce. In the filing, she stated that she and Nicholson had separated in April 2024 after tying the knot in 2011. During their marriage, they welcomed a son, River Rowe, who is now 8 years old.

Nicholson pushed back in his response, alleging that he had not been fairly compensated over the past two decades despite serving in multiple roles, including manager, tour producer, performance director, and business strategist. He also claimed he was entitled to royalties from Amerie’s music catalog, merchandise sales, and publishing ventures.

He further alleged that Amerie left their home in 2024 while he was recovering from surgery, leaving him responsible for the rent and household expenses. According to Nicholson, he paid roughly $44,000 in rent on his own during that period.

Nicholson also accused his former wife of spending $20,000 on cosmetic procedures and taking trips to Mexico and Jamaica. In addition, he claimed that after returning to music, Amerie used an 18-week marketing strategy he created without acknowledging his contributions.

In his court filing, Nicholson sought $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, $150,000 in damages related to alleged emotional distress and verbal attacks, spousal support, and other forms of compensation.
