Lil Wayne Addresses Missing Maine Show After Arriving Late to Another Concert in New Hampshire

Lil Wayne remains one of hip-hop’s most influential figures, with a legendary career that helped define the 2000s and 2010s. As he prepares for the release of Tha Carter VII, the rapper is currently touring alongside 2 Chainz, celebrating his extensive catalog of hits.

Last week, Wayne was scheduled to kick off the tour in Bangor, Maine, but he never appeared at the show, leaving many fans disappointed. The rapper later performed in Saratoga Springs, New York, on Thursday before heading to Gilford, New Hampshire, on Friday. However, his delayed arrival in New Hampshire, where he took the stage nearly two hours late, sparked another wave of criticism and conversation online.

During a livestream over the weekend, Lil Wayne addressed the backlash and explained that his Maine performance was canceled because he was dealing with health-related issues.

Wayne revealed that he has been dealing with epilepsy-related issues and that seizures continue to be a challenge in his life. Those health struggles ultimately prevented him from taking the stage last week. In a message shared on social media, the rapper apologized to fans for missing the performance and assured them that he plans to make it up to them soon.

During the same livestream, Lil Wayne also shared that he and his girlfriend, Madi Cannon, have ended their relationship. Although reports previously claimed the two were engaged, Wayne clarified that they were only boyfriend and girlfriend. He explained that he decided to walk away from the relationship because he felt like he had become a “burden.”

It has been a challenging period for Lil Wayne, who is expected to return to the road on Thursday, July 16, with his next tour stop scheduled in Des Moines, Iowa.
