Lil Durk has secured a significant legal win.
The Chicago rapper, who is preparing to stand trial in a federal murder-for-hire case, had been seeking to have several recently added racketeering charges removed. On Tuesday (July 14), the court ruled in his favor.
Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald ordered that the racketeering charges, which were added in early June, will be separated from the current case and addressed in a later trial. Durk’s trial on the remaining charges will move forward as originally scheduled on August 20.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
